  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cajun seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • For Serving
  • 4 hamburger buns toasted
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles shredded cheese, coleslaw

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart, until fully cooked and lightly browned.
  3. Stir in onion and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  4. Add garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook until fragrant.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer until thick and saucy, about 5–7 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  8. Spoon mixture onto toasted buns and serve warm.
