Ingredients
  

  • Fries
  • 1 lb frozen French fries or homemade fries
  • Salt to taste
  • Chili
  • 2 cups beef chili homemade or canned
  • Cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or cheddar & Monterey Jack blend
  • Optional Toppings
  • Sour cream
  • Sliced green onions
  • Jalapeños
  • Hot sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven according to fries package directions (usually 425°F / 220°C).
  2. Bake or fry fries until extra crispy and golden. Season lightly with salt.
  3. While fries cook, heat chili in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.
  4. Spread fries in an even layer on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish.
  5. Spoon hot chili evenly over the fries.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top.
  7. Return to oven or broiler until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Add optional toppings and serve immediately.
