Crispy Chicken Taquitos

Golden, crunchy chicken taquitos filled with seasoned shredded chicken and melty cheese. Easy, crowd-pleasing comfort food.

Ingredients
  

  • Filling
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken rotisserie works great
  • cups shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Assembly
  • 12 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Method
 

  1. Make the Filling
  2. In a bowl, combine chicken, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Warm Tortillas
  4. Warm tortillas briefly until soft and pliable to prevent cracking.
  5. Assemble Taquitos
  6. Spoon filling along one edge of each tortilla. Roll tightly and place seam-side down.
  7. Cook Until Crispy
  8. Oven: Brush or spray with oil. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes, turning once.
  9. Air Fryer: Cook at 380°F (195°C) for 8–10 minutes.
  10. Pan-Fry: Fry in shallow oil until golden on all sides.
  11. Serve
  12. Let rest 2 minutes, then serve hot with dips.
