Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour heat-treated & cooled
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk or cream as needed
  • Red food coloring gel preferred
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Heat-Treat the Flour
  2. Microwave flour in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until safe to eat. Let cool completely.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugars
  4. Beat butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar until light and creamy.
  5. Add Flavor & Color
  6. Mix in cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until evenly combined.
  7. Add Flour
  8. Gradually mix in the cooled flour until incorporated.
  9. Adjust Texture
  10. Add milk or cream one tablespoon at a time until dough is smooth and scoopable.
  11. Fold in Chocolate Chips
  12. Gently stir in mini chocolate chips.
  13. Serve or Chill
  14. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate to firm up.
