Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken
  • lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • For the Sticky Sauce
  • cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • ¼ cup honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil optional
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water slurry
  • For Serving Optional
  • Cooked rice quinoa, or noodles
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Cook the Chicken
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Cook until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sticky Sauce
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, honey, vinegar, and sesame oil.
  5. Thicken the Sauce
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  7. Combine
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sticky sauce.
  9. Assemble Bowls
  10. Serve sticky chicken over your favorite base and garnish as desired.
